In the modern world of football there isn’t much room for loyalty anymore. From agents, to players leaving clubs in what feels like a heartbeat, managers being sacked after a poor run and chairmen using clubs like billion dollar play things (ie cash machines!) - Loyalty is in short supply.
With that being said though, a certain player is turning 40 this year and has been at his boyhood club since 1989. That player is Francesco Totti. In the football world Totti feels like a relic of a bygone era. A player who turned down Real Madrid and a host of Premier League teams to stay at Roma, a club that he once described as ‘being in his blood’. |
