AuthorJeffEyesRimmer That’s a wrap, the season is over and it has been an interesting season. Many will wonder whether the EPL this season was actually any good but I would say it has been a good season. Man City were quite simply brilliant, Wenger’s final goodbye, all the promoted clubs staying up, Mo Salah being amazing and Swansea were relegated. All good! The EPL season contributed to a great Fantasy Football League this year too and we saw plenty of ups and downs. In the end it was a familiar face that took out the title. Congratulations to Storm Riders and manager Brian Gleeson for claiming back his title with a point’s score of 2309. We assume he will be back next year to attempt to retain the title. It was a fantastic effort from fellow football blogger Ayush Verma and his team Verma FC to try to chase down Brian, only losing by 23 points. In the end it was probably the poor start that cost Verma, with the first few weeks grabbing only 40 points hauls, but second spot is certainly nothing to be sniffed at in your debut season! Third place goes to Mani P and Koom; they have cemented themselves in third pretty much the entire season, building a little wall around third. They comfortably held on in the end against all comers and will be up there next season again. The surprise package of the season goes to Thunder FC and manager Paul Richards. It’s good to see a fellow Welshman up there and it’s been a huge effort from them to climb up to fourth. At one point Thunder FC was down near the bottom of the league. Rounding out the top five is Mark Affleck and Florence the Eagle. Mark was the run-out leader for so long this season and finally ran of steam towards the end. Those Gameweeks 28-32 really cost you Mark, we hope to see you back next season to challenge Brian’s dominance. Some stats for you for this season: Highest Points Haul in a Gameweek:
Lowest Points Haul in a Gameweek:
Most used player: Mo Salah, with 56% of teams using him in their team. Highest Scoring player: Mo Salah with 303 points. The Final Standings were: ---------
Well that’s it for the updates this year guys, thank you to everyone who participated in the league and we hope to you see you back again next season. Keep an eye out in your emails for a reminder to join the league again. Enjoy the World Cup and see you in August for the new season. Thanks Tom
