Things have returned to normality a bit since the crazy festive break, so I am aiming to have more regular updates for the remainder of the season for you all.
Harry Kane continued his good form, West Hams resurgence also continued with Arnautovic and Lanzini putting in good point hauls and West Broms central defenders are back. There is transfer talk that Alexi Sanchez will be heading to one of the Manchester clubs; this could prompt plenty of managers to plump for the Chilean. However, over to the league and some big news!
It’s finally happened, after 19 weeks at the top we have new leader at the summit. We said last week that it could happen and the Storm Riders went and delivered. Brian Gleeson continues to show he’s the man to beat and now sits proudly at the top of the table. The former champion is back, its taken 22 weeks to climb his way there but he has have done it and shows that the boast at the beginning of the season was justified – remember this Brian ‘ ‘Can anyone beat the two-time, back-to-back, 2016 and 2017 champion? No need for anyone to answer, it was a rhetorical question.’
After finally losing their top spot can Mark and Florence hit back in the coming weeks? Our latest podcast asked as much. Koom and Verma FC have kept their positions in third and fourth and are cementing their places in the top five. A good 45 points separates Verma in fourth with Farcelona in fifth. Can the teams below catch them? Manager Ayush Verma is a fellow football blogger, so this now has become a battle of the blogs. Can Verma hold off Farcelona, managed by our very own Football Outcast Joe?
Not to be outdone Optics United and Danger Here are both in with a hunt in 7th and 8th respectively. I would like to highlight here, that I as manager of Optics United am aiming for third now! Let’s see if we can get there.
Thunder FC have continued their upward trend and this is down to them recording the highest number of points in January so far (155). They are the team in form at the moment; the teams above will have to keep an eye out for them. Rounding out the top 10 are Matt Young’s Dirty Old Kodjias and Owusu Agyei’s Matthew 22:37.
Down at the bottom Big Ballerz still prop up the table, with Mayor and Cambridge Skulls making up the bottom three. A big month from Lords of Asgard saw them leapfrog sides up to 32nd.
1. Arnautovic 2. Salah 3. Firmino 4. Kane 5. Son Those that have lost favour with their managers this week are: 1. Morata (injured) 2. Richarlison (good return) 3. Grob (injured) 4. Calvert-Lewin 5. Lingard Here are a few players to watch curtsey of FML Tips:
