AuthorJeefEyesRimmer Gameweek 11 is done and dusted and our league leader has broken the 700 point barrier! They are really leaving the rest of us trailing in their wake. It was a decent average point’s week for this Gameweek with 44 points being the average haul (For once I managed to get higher than the average). We had different players making the headlines in Gameweek 11, with Steve Cook, Scott Malone and Oumar Niasse producing the goods this week. It was a solid week if you had Azpilicueta and Morata in the team too but plenty of managers cried a river of tears over Harry Kane and Lukaku who both failed to grab major points. As ever Florence the Eagle and manager Affleck continue their dominance at the top. It’s becoming boring to keep on writing that but I’m sure Affleck won’t mind. They have again extended their lead at the top to a whopping 54 points. Not unassailable but certainly a hefty lead going into the International break. Will they come back after the break and keep up their good form? Koom Kulx Klan and manager Mani P have also stayed in second but had a poor week after only picking up 39 points, the second lowest out of the top ten. Hot on his heels is Storm Riders, who had a league’s best 74 points to surge into third place and pushing both Bacuna Nakata and Farcelona out of the top five. Both those teams had poor rounds by comparison and their time in the top five was short lived. I guess manager Hale was right when he said his good form wouldn’t last long. The early pace setters in Gameweek Two - Wanyama Believe It are back! After falling quite badly over the past few weeks Stuart Thurlows side have climbed the rankings once again and now sit in fourth. A big point’s haul of 59 points this round, Morata and Salah doing the business, meant they sit in joint fourth. Yes, that’s right, joint fourth, as we have a new team entering the top five this week. This team has slowly been going about their business without many taking notice and have now moved into contention. Verma FC now sits in joint fourth with Wanyama Believe It on 602 points. They are a fair number of points back on Florence but there is still plenty of rounds left. A team to keep an eye on for sure. A couple of teams that we should also be keeping an eye out for are champeons and DubLFC who have both climbed into the top 20 and both had big 60 plus point rounds. A few more rounds like that and they will very much be in with a shout. Dropping like a stone as well is our current champions 3Ks! They have fallen to a new league low for them in 17th and are now in with a serious fight to keep hold of their title. No change in the bottom four but manager xcellento had a huge round of 63 points! It’s those sorts of rounds that keep the wolf from the door and they will certainly be climbing the table with them in that kind of form.
There could be trouble on the horizon for three team thought; Blackenbrecher, Bathgate Bloodnuts and Thunder FC all dropped badly, with all three teams have lower than average rounds. Blackenbrecher and Thunder FC had such poor points hauls this week (both had 29 points) that even bottom of the table Colemans lot earned more points (32 points)! That’s not a stat you want to have to your name. Although we think Thunder FC manager Richards had a good excuse as he was attending a family members wedding but that begs the question – What’s manager Blackwell’s excuse? Surely the sack is looming. In scouting news the top players that are top coming in are:
It seems sensible that managers are transferring out injured players for the next round although I am unsure as to why Christian Eriksen has lost out? Surprisingly one player who is producing quite a number of points is Jonas Lossl at Huddersfield. He has only been picked by 9% of managers but has the second best return of any goal keeper, the first being De Gea at Manchester United. ------ No Fantasy League next week managers as the EPL take a break for the International Break. Let us know on social media or in the comments if you would like to be included in the articles. Cheers, Tom
